Official Statement on Illegal Trump Tariff Lawsuit

Rookie Mage Games is proud to stand with other small businesses around the country against the illegal Trump Tariffs by filing suit against the President in the United States Court of International Trade.

I will not stand by and allow my years of hard work and the hard work of many other small businesses to be ruined in a desperate political ploy for attention and ego validation.

Attempting to move manufacturing jobs back to the United States is a worthwhile effort. There are smart ways to do it and there are dumb ways. This is likely the dumbest. It took 40 years to get into this situation. To presume this issue can be resolved in a matter of months by taxing small businesses into oblivion is asinine.

No small business can operate in a country whose economic policy is in constant flux based on the mood swings of one man. Economic policy should be crafted through thoughtful debate among our brightest minds. The Trump administration has proven time and time again they are incapable of thoughtfulness and are furthest from our brightest minds.

That needs to change. And with Congress abdicating their duty as a check on the powers of the Executive Branch, we have no other option than take our case to court.

To all the small businesses struggling out there, to my fellow game publishers, to everyone who has lost their livelihoods or their passion; keep your chin up. They can’t kick you when you’re down, if you never stay down.
